Collared Araçari
Birds living in the rainforests of Central America must be used to getting wet often. Usually, wet birds don’t look very attractive, but as you can see in this example, not every wet bird looks sad. This Collared Araçari (Pteroglossus torquatus) hasn’t lost its charm, even with damp feathers :) When it’s not sheltering from the rain, this bird can travel long distances searching for food. It mainly eats fruit, which it picks with its distinctive beak, but it also won’t turn down insects or small animals, like lizards.
