Eye to eye
Upon arriving at the Brook Falls area, every visitor undergoes training in case of encountering a brown bear, which is common here in autumn - after all, that's the main reason for coming here. The basic rule is to yield the path to the bear if it's using the same trail as us, so it can pass freely. While it sounds simple, when you come face-to-face with such a massive animal, your legs refuse to cooperate, and your brain urges you to flee, which of course would be futile. However, common sense prevails, and simply stepping a bit deeper into the nearby forest allows the bear to continue on its way without paying much attention to us.
