Olive-backed euphonia
Olive-backed euphonia (Euphonia gouldi) is a small, very active bird from the finch family. It mainly inhabits moist forests and adjacent bushy clearings in an area stretching from southern Mexico to Panama. The male, visible in the photo, froze for a moment with its beak wide open. Interestingly, it didn't make any sound and remained in this position for a few seconds, as if trying to catch falling raindrops in its beak.
