Not as dumb as it seems
Although at first glance a pelican (pictured is a young Dalmatian pelican) may not seem particularly intelligent, such an opinion would be unfair to its species. While they may not match the intelligence of crows or parrots, certain abilities suggest that, in terms of intellect, they surpass most avian companions. Pelicans have a developed hunting instinct, can cooperate in groups during hunts, and demonstrate adaptability in various environments. They are also capable of recognizing themselves in a mirror, a sign of intelligence in animals. Thus, pelicans may look down on other birds from above :)
