A good time for predators
The time when impalas give birth, means a time of abundance for predators. Young, weak, and clumsy antelopes become easy prey for the swift and agile cheetahs. While an adult impala is not at a disadvantage in a race against the fastest creature on earth, a few-days-old antelope is destined to become a meal if it catches the eye of a cheetah. Such was the fate of a young impala that lost its race on the plains of Chitabe in Botswana.
