In the middle of nowhere
The Makgadigadi area, surrounded by the Kalahari Desert, is one of the largest salt pans in the world. There is no water there, the temperatures are high and it would seem that only specialized animals can survive in such an environment. However, this is a wrong assumption, because you can meet even wildebeest in this area, as you can see in the attached photo
