Namibia is full of otherworldly landscapes. Vast rocky or sandy deserts with no trace of life are beautiful and unreal at the same time. The greatest surprise is the relatively small valley surrounded by high dunes, in which dead tree stumps rule. With the right lighting, you get the impression that you are on the moon of some great red-purple planet. This valley is Deadvlei in the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
